A recent study on the prevalence of parasitic pollution in the coastal seawater of Gaza City reveals that about 48% of 52 analysed samples were contaminated with parasites.

The assessment was conducted during the summer period from June to October 2011. The study area was divided into six zones (A, B, C, D, E and F) according to specific criteria such as the presence of the wastewater discharge points and other geographical characteristics.

Assessment of parasitic pollution in the coastal seawater of Gaza city was published in the Journal of Environmental Health Science and Engineering on January 2014 and shared by the ENPI-SEIS National Focal Point from the Palestinian National Authority.
